The Pittsburgh Steelers topped the Carolina Panthers with a final score of 28-17 in Week 16 of the 2026 season, solidifying their playoff position as the regular season draws to a close. This victory was crucial for Pittsburgh, as they aim to secure a favorable seed heading into the postseason. Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers showcased his experience, throwing for 273 yards and a touchdown. Meanwhile, Breece Hall added a significant ground game with 104 rushing yards, and DK Metcalf was the standout receiver, racking up 110 yards through the air. This offensive trio was instrumental in maintaining control of the game and keeping the Panthers' defense on their heels. Defensively, Payton Wilson made a critical impact with an interception, helping to shift momentum in the Steelers' favor. Nic Scourton of the Panthers was a force on defense, recording 3.5 sacks, but ultimately, the Steelers’ balanced offensive attack proved too much for Carolina to handle. The turning point came late in the third quarter when Wilson's interception set up a touchdown drive, allowing Pittsburgh to extend their lead and hold off a late-game surge from the Panthers.
