The New York Giants topped the New York Jets 36-24 in a Week 2 clash that showcased the fierce rivalry in the Big Apple. With this victory, the Giants improved their season record, while the Jets are left searching for answers after a second consecutive loss. Leading the charge for the Giants was quarterback Jaxson Dart, who threw for 298 yards and one touchdown, efficiently guiding his team down the field. On the ground, Ashton Jeanty was a force, racking up 132 rushing yards and consistently finding openings against the Jets' defense. The combination of Dart's aerial attack and Jeanty's ground game proved too much for New York's defense to handle. Defensively, the Jets struggled to contain the Giants' offensive onslaught despite standout performances from their own players. Rayshawn Pleasant recorded an impressive 10 total tackles, but it was Kayvon Thibodeaux who made his mark with 2.5 sacks, applying pressure on Dart throughout the game. The turning point came in the second quarter when the Giants capitalized on a Jets turnover, quickly converting it into points and establishing a lead that they would not relinquish.
