In a decisive Week 5 matchup, the San Francisco 49ers topped the Seattle Seahawks with a final score of 40-22, solidifying their position in the playoff race. The stakes were high, with both teams looking to gain momentum as the season approached the halfway mark. Brock Purdy led the charge for San Francisco, throwing an impressive five touchdown passes, showcasing his ability to find the end zone effectively. Meanwhile, Sam Darnold of the Seahawks put up notable numbers as well, tossing for 317 yards and keeping Seattle competitive through the air. Jadarian Price emerged as a key target for Darnold, racking up 137 receiving yards, but it wasn't enough to overcome the 49ers’ offensive onslaught. Defensively, the Seahawks struggled to contain San Francisco's prolific scoring. A.J. Terrell Jr. stood out with three total tackles and an interception, providing some spark for Seattle, but the 49ers’ relentless attack proved too much. The turning point came midway through the second quarter when Purdy threw two quick touchdown passes, giving San Francisco a lead they would not relinquish.
