In a decisive Week 5 matchup, the Detroit Lions topped the Arizona Cardinals with a final score of 36-11, solidifying their position in the playoff race. This victory not only boosts Detroit’s confidence but also highlights their potential as a contender in the 2026 season. Jared Goff led the Lions' offense, throwing for one touchdown and efficiently managing the game. Jahmyr Gibbs was instrumental on the ground, rushing for 69 yards and contributing significantly to the team's offensive rhythm. Meanwhile, Marvin Harrison Jr. put up solid numbers for the Cardinals, leading all receivers with 101 yards, but it wasn't enough to spark a comeback. Defensively, the Lions were dominant, with Christian Izien making his presence felt with three tackles and an interception. Derrick Moore added to the pressure with a key sack, disrupting Arizona's offensive flow. The turning point came late in the first half when Izien's interception halted a potential scoring drive, allowing Detroit to pull away and secure a comfortable lead heading into the second half.
