In a decisive Week 2 matchup of the 2026 season, the Washington Commanders topped the Dallas Cowboys with a final score of 27-14. Both teams were looking to solidify their early-season standings, but it was Washington that emerged victorious, showcasing a balanced offensive and defensive effort. Dak Prescott led the Cowboys offensively, throwing for 227 yards and two touchdowns, but it wasn't enough to secure a win. Washington's Jayden Daniels contributed modestly on the ground with 26 rushing yards, while the Commanders' passing game utilized efficiency to stay ahead. Defensively, Leo Chenal of the Commanders made a critical impact, recording an interception that shifted momentum in Washington's favor. Despite the Cowboys' Shavon Revel Jr. leading the team with four tackles, their inability to contain key plays ultimately sealed their fate. The turning point came in the second half when Chenal's interception set up a touchdown drive that extended Washington's lead, leaving Dallas struggling to catch up.
