In a commanding performance, the Detroit Lions defeated the Buffalo Bills 58-26 in Week 2 of the 2026 season. The Lions showcased their offensive prowess, proving they are a team to be reckoned with early in the year. With this victory, Detroit solidifies its position as a contender, while the Bills will need to regroup and reassess after a tough outing. Jared Goff led the Lions with a stellar performance, throwing for 4 touchdowns and igniting the offense. Jahmyr Gibbs complemented the passing game with a strong ground attack, racking up 105 rushing yards. On the other side, Josh Allen put up impressive numbers for the Bills, throwing for 343 yards, but it wasn't enough to keep pace with Detroit's explosive offense. The Lions' defense made critical plays, highlighted by Kerby Joseph's interception that shifted momentum in the game. Despite a strong individual effort from Terrel Bernard, who recorded 5 total tackles, the Bills struggled to contain the Lions' offensive onslaught. The turning point came in the second quarter when Goff connected for two quick touchdowns, pushing Detroit to a lead they would not relinquish.
