The Houston Texans held off the Cincinnati Bengals 34-26 on Sunday, sending the visitors home with a Week 2 loss and staking early claim to momentum in the division race. It was a game Cincinnati never quite pulled level in, despite moving the ball at will for long stretches. Houston, meanwhile, found just enough answers on both sides of the ball to keep the Bengals at arm's length. Joe Burrow put together the kind of afternoon that usually ends in a win, throwing for 392 yards and three touchdowns while Tee Higgins turned in a monster performance with 192 receiving yards. The Burrow-to-Higgins connection was the engine of the Cincinnati offense from the opening drive, repeatedly flipping field position and keeping the Bengals within striking distance. For Houston, C.J. Stroud did his damage with his legs as much as his arm, leading all rushers with 71 yards and consistently extending drives when the pocket collapsed. Those scrambles proved every bit as valuable as the Bengals' explosive passing numbers. The difference was Will Anderson Jr., who lived in the Cincinnati backfield and finished with three sacks that stalled drives at the worst possible moments for Burrow. Every time the Bengals threatened to seize control, Anderson's pressure forced Cincinnati off schedule and into obvious passing situations. Dax Hill led all tacklers with eight stops in a busy day for the Cincinnati defense, but the Bengals could not generate the same disruption up front. In a game where Burrow outproduced everyone through the air, Houston's pass rush was the tactical advantage that decided it.
